Why it costs more here
Salt air eats cheap fixtures
Within a couple of miles of the Gulf, chloride in the air pits anodized aluminum
and cracks the composite housings sold at big-box stores. You see it the same way
every time: lenses fog, the finish blisters, water finds the socket, and the
fixture dies two seasons in — usually the season after the installer's warranty ends.
Brass and copper corrode too. They just do it politely — they patina, they keep
their seal, and they keep working. On Siesta Key, Longboat, Bird Key and Casey Key
this is not an upgrade we sell you. It is the only thing we will put in the ground.
Everything below grade gets a direct-burial connection rather than a twist cap,
and every run is voltage-tested at the far fixture before we call the job done.
